Deep Water
merupakan film survival-thriller terbaru dibintangi Aaron Eckhart dan Ben Kingsley. Film ini menggambarkan upaya para penumpang pesawat yang baru saja mengalami kecelakaan untuk tetap bertahan hidup.
Kisah Deep Water bermula setelah penerbangan internasional yang jatuh di Samudra Pasifik, memaksa para penumpang dan awak pesawat berjuang bertahan hidup dari serangan hiu-hiu yang terus mengintai.

Dalam penerbangan internasional dari Los Angeles ke Shanghai, power bank yang tidak disimpan dengan benar memicu kebakaran di kargo pesawat. Api menyebabkan ledakan yang merobek badan pesawat dan menghancurkan salah satu mesin.
Saat sejumlah kursi penumpang tersedot keluar dari pesawat, kapten Rich (Ben Kingsley) dan kopilot Ben (Aaron Eckhart) terpaksa melakukan pendaratan darurat di lautan.
Sayangnya, pesawat menghantam terumbu karang hingga bangkainya terbelah menjadi tiga bagian. Melihat hal itu, ia meminta kru yang selamat mencoba untuk mengumpulkan penumpang demi mempercepat evakuasi.

Namun, tanpa mereka sadari, situasi itu ternyata awal dari perjuangan yang sesungguhnya. Bangkai pesawat yang terbelah di tengah lautan menjadi sasaran kawanan hiu yang terus mengintai.
Di bagian depan pesawat, Rich terjebak di kursinya dan menyerahkan komando kepada Ben. Ia memerintahkan Ben menyelamatkan diri sebelum kokpit sepenuhnya dipenuhi air.
Berharap mengambil alat pelacak darurat (Emergency Locator Transmitter/ELT) dari bagian tengah bangkai pesawat, awak kabin Penny (Lucy Barret) berenang sendirian.
Namun, Ben dan seorang penumpang muda bernama Cora (Molly Belle Wright) gagal menyelamatkannya setelah ia diserang seekor hiu.
Ben dan Cora kemudian berhasil mencapai bagian tengah bangkai pesawat.
Terpisah di beberapa bagian pesawat, para penumpang harus menghadapi keterbatasan waktu, luka-luka, serta serangan hiu demi bertahan hidup sambil menunggu bantuan datang.
Namun serangan hiu terus berlanjut. Dengan jumlah penumpang yang tersisa kurang dari 30 orang, Ben mengumpulkan mereka menggunakan dua rakit penyelamat dan mengambil alih kepemimpinan.
Deep Water merupakan film terbaru garapan sutradara Renny Harlin, yang juga dikenal lewat film Deep Blue Sea (1999). Sementara itu, naskah film ini ditulis oleh Pete Bridges, John Kim, Shayne Armstrong, S.P. Krause, dan Damien Power.
Selain diperankan Aaron Eckhart dan Ben Kingsley, film ini juga diperankan oleh Molly Belle Wright, Angus Sampson, Lucy Barret, Rose Zhao, Lakota Johnson, hingga Elijah Tamati.
Deep Water diberi label R13 atau untuk penonton usia 13 tahun ke atas. Film ini tayang di bioskop Indonesia mulai 5 Agustus.
